This Meisner's view of Sisak was published in his work "Thesauras phillopoliticus hoc est…" edited by Paul Fürst and appeared in Nürnberg, in 1638. The map image shows the fortress of Sisak built on the confluent of Kupa and Sava rivers. In the foreground, a ship and tower are drawn to indicate that the river is navigable. Below the map image is a baroque sentence of neo stoical inspiration written in elegiac couplets: Splendescit sera sub nocte in littore turris/ Ut dunque nautae, quae via salva, notent, in translation: In the late night, the lighthouse on the shore is projecting its beam/ to serve the sailors leading them safely across the sea.
